Jim Bentle
Director, ASBA
Mr. Bentle joined the the American Senior Benefits Association Board as a Director in 2007. He has contributed to the recent changes at ASBA, which now allows ASBA to serve an even larger demographic of Americans. He brings over 40 years of professional experience to ASBA, both in the corporate and association sectors.
Mr. Bentle began his professional career as a clerk at Equitable Insurance. From there he moved to Mutual and United of Omaha, where he quickly moved up the ladder from sales agent, to District Manager, to Regional Sales Manager within the Association Group Department. As Regional Sales Manager, he was responsible for marketing Disability Income products through the Association sector.
After his time at Mutual and United of Omaha, Mr. Bentle then moved to Bankers Life and Casualty, where he spent 30 years contributing to the success of the corporation from many different avenues. He began at Bankers as a Product Line Supervisor focusing mostly on Disability Income, but was quickly promoted to Director of Affiliated Company Marketing, and then promoted again to Vice President of Sales. Mr. Bentle spent the last eight years at Bankers Life and Casualty serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, where he consistently improved new business quality and performance, all while maintaining a flat budget.
Although Mr. Bentle retired from Bankers Life and Casualty in 1993, he served as a Board Director for Design Benefits.
Mr. Bentle continues to bring the organizational, relational and association-specific experience that is vital to ASBA's growth and success.
Mr. Bentle attended Indiana Central College and the University of Omaha.
