ASBA Offers Assistance in Dealing With Insurance Companies

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Chicago, IL - April 6, 2010 - Deciphering medical bills and following up on the insurance claims that spring from them is sometimes difficult for seniors. Each health provider has its own way of billing; each insurer its own way of explaining benefits paid and amounts due. Tracking the information to make sure that all claims are paid is a laborious process that, in many cases, is left to the adult children or grandchildren of seniors.

But today, the American Senior Benefits Association (ASBA) announced that it will launch a new program aimed at helping caregivers avoid the tedium that comes with sorting through mountains of paperwork. CareChampion 24/7 helps seniors and their caregivers avoid the confusion inherent in organizing and paying medical bills.

"When you've had a complex medical procedure or hospital stay, dealing with the medical bills that follow can be overwhelming. For caregivers, it can be nearly impossible to balance the continued care of a loved one with following up on the administrative tasks like contacting insurance companies and filing claims," says Bill Hill, Sr., President and Chairman of the Board of ASBA. "We think that CareChampion 24/7 will help enormously with alleviating some of that burden for both seniors and their children, grandchildren and other caregivers."

For a monthly fee, CareChampion 24/7 helps seniors and their caregivers interpret complex medical bills, file claims, conduct follow-up with the insurance company, and ensure that bill payments are accurately recorded and posted.
