Executive Director, American Senior Benefits Association
ASBA Membership Reaches 500,000
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Chicago, IL - April 1, 2008 - The American Senior Benefits Association, (ASBA), announced today that its membership has topped the half-million mark.
"This really shows us that seniors want and need the kind of value our organization provides", said Bill Hill, Sr., ASBA President and Chairman of the Board. "We are proud to have reached this milestone, but obviously could not have done it without the support of our members."
Formerly known as the American Small Business Association, ASBA became the American Senior Benefits Association last year. This name change was precipitated by a desire to expand the ASBA message and to become a valuable resource for all seniors, regardless of whether or not they are business owners. This expansion, augmented by a broad spectrum of member benefits which includes free enrollment, has led to explosive growth of the membership base.
"ASBA has reached so many more seniors in the past year than we had in previous years when our message was a lot narrower," said Hill. "Now that the Baby Boomers have begun to retire, we believe that our message is starting to hit home with a broader range of people."
ASBA expects membership to grow at a steady pace well into 2009.
The American Senior Benefits Association (ASBA) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit association where membership is completely free. ASBA is committed to lifestyle enhancement through benefits, advocacy and education for the over-50 population. ASBA concentrates its efforts on the issues that are of greatest concern to its members. Through its partners and programs, ASBA members receive product and service discounts, as well as other benefits. Current ASBA membership stands at over 500,000 nationally.
